Lip lift surgery, or lip lift, uses various procedures to restore the volume and position of aged lips. When other parts of the face are in acceptable condition and the main problem is the lips, we can use specific techniques for them. Am I a good candidate for a Madrid and Valencia lip lift?

Candidates for a surgical lip lift procedure should be in good general and dental health, have mild to severe lip changes, and have realistic expectations. It is strongly recommended not to smoke from 1 month before surgery to 1 month after surgery. The patient must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.

Dr. Villamarín will meet with each patient individually to determine if they may benefit from a lip lift. During this consultation, a thorough examination of the mouth, teeth, lips and face will be carried out. The objectives, benefits, results and alternatives without surgery will be discussed with Dr. Villamarín and then he will design a detailed and adapted treatment plan or tailor made for each patient. In the case of surgery, a preoperative procedure will be ordered and postoperative recommendations will be provided in accordance with the protocol for the procedure.

The procedure.

There are many techniques available. Dr. Villamarín prefers to use the minimally invasive ones, which include an incision just under the nose. Post Procedure Care

After the procedure, we will begin medication and post-operative recommendations and you will return to the comfort of your home or hotel room. Medications, physical measures, and cold packs will be used to reduce swelling for the first two days after the procedure. There will be follow-up as per protocol to monitor healing and make sure all your questions are answered.

Recovery

Recovery is mainly related to swelling, a feeling of tension and in rare cases with bruising. Recovery usually takes 7 to 14 days, depending on the procedures performed, and we recommend planning 2 weeks off work or social engagements to allow plenty of time to recover.

Minor swelling and a feeling of tightness continue to improve steadily for up to several weeks after the procedure. Exercise can be resumed 2-3 weeks after the procedure, depending on the nature of the activity and the degree of inflammation involved.

What to expect from the lip lift?

It gives excellent results and will eliminate mild to advanced cases of lip droop and restore a rejuvenated presence and smile.

How long will the result last?

It depends on the case. In general, the first effects are usually seen in 2-3 weeks and the result usually lasts 6-8 years. Maintenance is required.

Over time, the tissues of the lips change, distend, thin and droop, giving a picture of real aging.
