AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR MADRID AND VALENCIA UPPER BLEPHAROPLASTY?

Candidates for an upper blepharoplasty procedure with surgery should be in good general health, have mild to severe changes in the eyelids and periocular region, and have realistic expectations. They must not suffer from skin, infectious, immune or advanced thyroid diseases, severe dry eyes, hypertension or uncontrolled diabetes. It is strongly recommended not to smoke from 1 month before surgery to 1 month after surgery. The patient must not be pregnant or breastfeeding. Dr. Villamarín will meet with each patient individually to determine if they may benefit from a surgical eyelid lift. During this consultation, a thorough examination of the eyebrows, eyelids, vision, the eyes themselves (ophthalmological examination with fundus), tear production and the face will be carried out.

What kind of anesthesia do we use?

Recovery from upper eyelid surgery

Recovery is mainly related to swelling and in rare cases with bruising. Recovery typically takes 7 to 14 days, depending on the procedures performed, and we recommend planning a week off work or social engagements to allow plenty of time to recover.

Minor swelling continues to improve steadily for up to several weeks after the procedure. Exercise can be resumed 2-3 weeks after the procedure, depending on the nature of the activity and the degree of inflammation involved.
